Photography

And that is a wrap!

Last night I submitted my final photography assignment.  I am in a state of disbelief, joy, and nervousness as I now wait for my results and hopefully a Diploma in Professional Photography to follow soon after in the mail!

The final assignment required me to submit a portfolio of six (6) images in one field of photography of my choice.  I chose NATURE.  The dictionary describes nature as “the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations”. For this reason, I chose to submit two landscape, two wildlife/animal and two plant/flower images for my final six images for this assignment.  We had to submit them in order of what we thought was the strongest image through to the weakest and write a description on each and what we liked about each.  Here they are in what I think is strongest to weakest (which was incredibly hard because I feel very strongly about each and every image!).

Lotus Flowers

Sunrise at Byron Bay Beach

Water Dragon

Ducks on Pond

Hot House Floral

Sunset from Cape Byron Lighthouse

It was incredibly difficult to choose the final six because I have so many images but I just had to go with my gut and the feelings that evoked the most emotion from me.  Besides, my course time expires on 23 October so I was running out of time and had to bite the bullet.  Wish me luck!

Ciao for now,

  1. They are all stunning hon. It is so funny to see it laid out as you see from strongest to weakest. One of my favourites is the macro shot of the red flower. Amazing. Would love to meet up for a photo walk together after my nyc trip if you are interested. Good luck Xxxx

    • Thanks Deb – I love the macro shot of the red flower too. It was incredibly hard to put them in order of strongest to weakest so in the end I really didn’t dwell on it coz I just wanted to get it submitted! I would love to catch up with you after your NYC trip! In fact I just said that in an email to Lisa (Random Acts of Zen). Hope your trip goes well. You’re off tomorrow I think! Safe travels! xo

  3. How exciting and well done for getting through it. I am not surprised you couldn’t chose a best and worst image, they are all spectacular. I am very envious that you’ve gone a course – I would love to do one. Next year 🙂

I would love to complete a Photography course, something that I am passionate about! Was wondering which course you are doing…was it by correspondence or through tafe?

All the best with your assignment – each picture was beautiful.

    • Thank you Alicia! OMG it was so hard to choose only six and then even harder to rate them from strongest to weakest BUT I was so over it and ultimately just wanted to get six submitted and finish the course 🙂 xo

  5. All of them are absolutely gorgeous. But there is something about the duck picture that makes me want it on the wall.
