365 Grateful – Days 359 to 363

365 Grateful Project

Oh my goodness – I am so close to the end of my 365 Grateful Project!  I have so much that I am grateful for and so much to share that I had to hit pause at day 363 so I can think over what two things to finish on for days 364 and 365.

Meanwhile, again with multiple photographs, here are things for days 359 to 363 that I am grateful to have experienced.

365 Grateful – Day 359:  We were driving along one of the beautiful roads in the Byron Bay hinterland when I asked MrMM to pull over so I could jump out and photograph this fence post.   You heard right!  Not the beautiful rolling hills and view (though I love them too) but the old gnarly wood fence post and barbed wire.  You see, I really don’t think I was meant to live in suburbia.  I love the country – wide open spaces, rolling hills, cattle grazing … and old gnarly wooden fence posts.  I’m a bit strange like that – but happy to be so! 🙂  (p.s.  how green is that hinterland?!)

365 Grateful – Day 360:  Ok, so you don’t think I’m completely crackers, here is evidence that I did stop to take a photograph of the view from the hinterland roads also.  Isn’t this just beautiful?!  You can see across the gorgeous lush green countryside to Byron Bay.  I could live here people.  I really could! *sigh*

365 Grateful – Day 361:  We went up to see the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse.  What an incredible structure and the views from up there – mindblowingly beautiful!  It was such a privilege to photograph this lighthouse.  🙂

365 Grateful – Day 362:  We were fortunate enough to have timed our visit to the lighthouse with a sunset.  It was awesome!  It was like the paparazzi had arrived.  I was one amongst a huge pack.  Though I don’t really like crowds, this was so very worth it!

365 Grateful – Day 363:  We travelled along some very narrow, winding roads, took a wrong turn at one point, drove along very rough dirt roads, but eventually found our way to Minyon Falls.  Must admit that some of that drive had me a tincy bit frightened (understatement) but it was worth it in the end.  Just look at those falls!  Minyon Falls are in Nightcap National Park and stand at over 100 metres tall.  These photo’s were taken from a decked platform (with railings thank goodness!!) that overhangs the cliff edge near the falls.  To say that my heart was leaping out of my chest would be an understatement.  It was a loooong way down!  Thank goodness my camera has a strap that I could loop around my neck!  There is a walk to the bottom of the falls but as this was on the same day that we got up at around 4am to get down to Byron Bay beach to take sunrise photo’s and the fact we had also been on the go all day, we were pretty exhausted and chose not to do the walk on this occasion.

Only two more grateful’s to go.  How on earth will I choose two to finish on?!  I guess I will, and they will be coming very soon.  Until then…
