Inspirational Quotes

She stood in the storm, & when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails

She stood in the storm

Life doesn’t always go according to Plan A.  Mine certainly hasn’t!  And you know what … I’m glad.  I’m very, very glad!!

I have faced many storms during my life time.  One of the most recent was mid-way during 2012.  That storm certainly rattled me.  It knocked me about for a while … but here I am … I have adjusted my sails and I am riding the waves again and I am sailing in a completely different direction.

It has been quite a journey and one that I am still on.  It has taught me things about myself that I never had the time to discover before.  It has helped me to understand who I am and what brings me joy.  I can feel an inner peace blooming inside me.  I know what I need now to nourish ME.

So you see, it is worth it to ride out the storms and adjust your sails as need be.  After Plan A comes Plan B and after Plan B comes Plan C.  Don’t ever feel that you need to restrict yourselves to your initial plans.  As we journey through life our needs change.  We evolve and learn with change.  The most important thing is to stay connected with yourself so that you know what you need to feel joy, peace and happiness.

I cannot post this quote without making mention of its writer ‘Elizabeth Edwards’.  Elizabeth certainly had many storms in her life.  Here is a short paragraph about her:

Lawyer Elizabeth Edwards married John Edwards in 1977. After a car crash killed their son Wade, Edwards went into public service and her husband was elected to the Senate. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. Her husband later admitted to having an affair and fathering a child with a campaign staffer and dropped out of the 2008 presidential election. Edwards died of breast cancer in 2010.

    • There sure are some terribly sad stories out there. You see them every time you switch on the TV! Many have weathered far worse storms than me – that is for sure. There are also some incredibly, amazingly strong, brave and inspirational people out there! I love this quote too! Min xo
