I’m grateful to MrMM for organising the installation of a new pet door giving our dogs access to the covered pergola area!
MrMM is still on holidays. In fact, he has one more week of holiday before he returns to work. During this time at home he is getting a few things done around the house. One thing he organised was getting a new pet door installed into the security door which leads to our pergola area. We do already have a pet door in our laundry door which leads to the backyard. However, with all the frequent wet weather we have been having, we have found it necessary that the dogs have access to the covered pergola area and the surrounding gardens (to do their business). You see … Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are a little bit particular about getting wet and particularly getting their paws wet by walking on wet grass! And to be completely honest with you, I am a bit over standing in the pouring rain in the backyard with a puppy trying to get her to do her stuff!
The installation of this new pet door has been a HUGE success! The toilet training of puppy Ava has come ahead in leaps and bounds since we got this new pet door. She is also very proud of herself being able to go in and out as she pleases. This was previously an area she was not allowed unless on her lead … because she was so tiny she could slip through the pool fence. Too risky! She has grown now though and so now it is safe. 🙂
Here are a couple of photo’s that show the new pet door in action.
Puppy Ava (21 weeks of age) very proudly makes her way through the new pet door. Chelsea (nearly 13 years) waits outside.
Success! Chelsea congratulates puppy Ava on her obvious skill and prowess at going through pet doors! 😉
