365 Grateful – Day 151

365 Grateful - Day 151

I’m grateful that despite everything, I always have hope!

Hope that I can overcome the health problems that plague me and become a healthier and happier person.

Hope that I find my true calling and can pursue it with passion and pleasure and make it my new career.  I love  the quote by Steve Jobs:

The only way to do great work is to love what you do.  If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know it when you find it.

….and that is what I intend to do.  I settled far too long….now I’m keeping on looking and exploring and thankfully I have hope that I will find what it is that I need to do to be truly me and a happy me at that.

Hope that I have done an ok job of being a mother and that my children will go on to live happy, productive lives.

Hope that I can be a good daughter and sister.

Hope that I can be a good friend to my friends.

Hope that I can be strong enough to cope with the hardships that life will inevitably throw at me in the future.

…and so on.  So grateful that hope is always there.

p.s.  Yes today’s photograph is my artwork or should I say…doodles.  Not my finest work but I wanted something authentic rather than pulling the work ‘hope’ from the internet.

  1. That is a very clever drawing! I love it! 🙂

It’s interesting – “hope” is my word for 2013. I felt last year like I had lost hope after a few heartbreaking events in my life. And I’ve been thinking heavily about how to bring the hope back again. And exactly what it means.

Thank you for this post ♥

    • Thanks Meg – the drawing was a bit of doodling while I was watching TV and eating my lunch today. The word popped into my head and was appropriate to how I was feeling today so I decided to draw it and then photograph it. I’m so sad that you’ve had some heartbreaking events in your life. You must have hope in your life…there is always hope! <> Min xo

  2. I love the illustration at the top. I hope that you find whatever it is your want to be ‘when you grow up’. I thought I had found it and now I’m not so sure and looking in different directions.

    • Hi Annaleis – glad you like my little drawing. I hope I can work out what I want to be when I grow up SOON! I was very good at what I was doing before but not very happy. I’d like both now 🙂 Thanks for visiting and commenting!

  3. Awww you are a great mumma if you worry that you aren’t! As for work/job it’s so hard to really do what we want or are good at when our babies are always the No.1 priority. Great post as usual! Em xx

    • Thanks Em – I think mums always think they could have done better sometimes. It’s that guilt thing rearing its head. Re my work/job – I’ve always worked to make money because my kids were no. 1 and we needed the money for their education and so on. Now they’re grown so I’m starting to ponder what I could do that I’m good at and would actually love doing also 🙂 Thanks for visiting and commenting xo

  5. ” hope is what dies last ” is a common saying in German.
it’s probably true, and otherwise I would have truly given up many times in my live.. Hope that your wishes and hopes all come true =)

    • Hi Nikki – I didn’t know that was a common saying in German. I agree – the human spirit relies heavily on hope. If there is no hope than I hate to think. I hope all your dreams come true too – thank you! 🙂
